Coach
Brief info

I began my journey in Shito Ryu Karate Do in Caracas, Venezuela, at the young age of 8, under the expert guidance of my revered sensei, now Shihan Luis Albertee. Shihan Albertee is a distinguished student of the esteemed Hanshi Shoko Sato, who himself was a direct disciple and Uchi Deshi of Kenwa Mabuni, preserving the pure lineage and traditions of this martial art.
From the outset of my training, I demonstrated a deep commitment and passion for karate, which led me to become an active member of the Miranda State karate team. This experience not only honed my skills but also allowed me to represent my region in numerous competitions. One of the most significant milestones in my athletic career was my participation in the prestigious Shito Ryu World Championship held at the iconic Budokan in Tokyo in 2006. There, after much dedication and rigorous preparation, I proudly earned a bronze medal in the Kata category, standing alongside some of the finest karate practitioners in the world.
My dedication to karate naturally evolved into a desire to teach and share the art with others. In 2009, I embarked on my journey as an instructor, establishing my own dojo, Miyagi Ken, in Caracas, Venezuela. This dojo became a hub for training, personal growth, and fostering the values of discipline and respect that are intrinsic to karate.
In 2012, I relocated to the United States, where I continued to immerse myself in the world of karate. Between 2012 and 2016, I had the privilege of assisting Sensei Oswaldo Portillo at Izumi Karate Do in Doral, Florida. My time there allowed me to refine my teaching methods and connect with a broader community of karate enthusiasts.
In recognition of my continued dedication to the art, I was awarded my 2nd dan by the United States of America National Karate-do Federation (USANKF) in 2015, further solidifying my commitment to the lifelong pursuit of excellence in karate.
This path in martial arts has been not only a physical endeavor but a profound spiritual journey, shaping my character and enriching my life in countless ways. I remain deeply committed to both my personal practice and the teaching of future generations, continuing the legacy of Shito Ryu Karate Do.
